Ogun Teenager Jailed Four Months for Stealing Coolers

An Ogun State Magistrates’ Court sitting at Ota, on Thursday, sentenced an 18-year-old teenager, Peter Ogunbiyi, to four months’ imprisonment for stealing coolers, window burglary-proof metals and aluminium glass, all valued at N200,000.

The convict, whose address was not provided, pleaded guilty to burglary and theft.

Delivering her judgement, Magistrate A.O. Adeyemi sentenced him without an option of fine.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Inspector E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offence on October 14 around 4am at Oloko, Obasanjo area, Ota.

Adaraloye said the convict broke into the house of one Sarah Olayemi and stole the items.

He said the offences contravened sections 390 (9) and 411(2) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
