Gombe Assembly Confirms CJ

The Gombe State House of Assembly has confirmed Justice Halima Mohammed as the substantive chief judge of the state.

The confirmation followed her screening during the plenary session on Thursday.

With the confirmation, Mohammed, who had been the CJ in acting capacity, has emerged as the fourth substantive Chief Judge of Gombe State.

While responding to questions before her confirmation, Mohammed said upon her resumption, with the support of the state government, she had renovated many courts in the state to create a conducive environment for judges to discharge their duties.

“We are working towards going digital with judicial activities by requesting computers, generators and other items from the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy,” she said.

The chief justice said with the support of the government, “the judicial system in the state will be improved and cases will move at a faster rate to a logical conclusion”.
