Two Remanded Over Robbery, Firearm Possession in Lagos
A Yaba Magistrate court has remanded two men identified as Kabiru Oladele and Moyinnoluwa Moses for allegedly robbing an Automatic Gas Oil with dangerous weapons.
The suspects were arraigned on two counts of robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
The prosecutor, O.W Ologun, told the court that the accused committed the crime on August 27 at Anthony village in Lagos state.
Ologun added that the suspects allegedly robbed the Automatic Gas Oil of goods worth N10.7 million.
He said, “Kabiru Oladele, M, Moyinoluwa Moses, M, and others at large, on or before 27th August 2022 at Anthony Village, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: armed robbery and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 286 and punishable and punishable under section 299 of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2015.”
“Kabiru Oladele, M, Moyinoluwa, M, and others at large on or before 27th August, 2022 at Anthony village, Lagos in the magisterial district while armed with dangerous weapon such as rifles guns did robbed Automative Gas OiL of goods valued Ten Million Seven Hundred and Seventeen Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (10,717,500.00) property of one Alhaja Olabisi Ayinla, F, and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 296 and punishable under section 297 (2) (a) and (b) of the criminal laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
The suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, O. A. Salawu, however, ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison custody pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions.
Salawu adjourned the case till 9th December 2022.
