THE Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) has warned that landlords risk 15 years in jail for renting houses to Internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo boys’.

The warning issued to landlords was contained in an e-flier of a Twitter Space discussion to be hosted by the EFCC on June 29.

The topic of the discussion is ‘Give Your House To Yahoo Boys, Spend 15 Years In Jail.’

To promote the program, the agency wrote:

“Okay, now! What a juicy topic! E go, sweet wella! Landlord way yahoo-boy dey stay for him house, my people, na 15 years imprisonment for the landlord o! E don set!”

The Commission’s Twitter Space public conversation series, tagged ‘#EFCCConnect’, is slated for 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 29.

EFCC Assistant Director, Legal and Prosecution, Cosmos Ugwu and The Commission’s Deputy Director, Legal and Prosecution, Sylvanus Tahir, will be speaking on the topic.
