Renowned Law Scholar, Prof Ignatius Ayua, SAN Passes On
The Abuja Law and Development Institute regrets to announce the passing unto the great beyond of Professor Ignatius Akaayar Ayua, OFR, SAN, FNIALS, a former Director of the Institute.
The death notification was signed by Pastor Raphael JighJigh Ayua, the managing Director of the Institute noted that the sad incident happened on Sunday the 23rd of this month.
The death notification which was made available to the Nigeria lawyer reads in part “It is with a heavy heart, but with gratitude to the Almighty and merciful God, that I write, on behalf the Ayua Yeke family, to inform you, sir, of the death of our patriarch Professor Ignatius Akaayar Ayua, OFR, SAN, FNIALS”
“He served the Nigerian Nation and Benue State of Nigeria with industry in various capacities including but not limited to, Lecturer/Dean of Law/ Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria; Director -General, Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Lagos/Abuja; Solicitor General of the Federation/Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja; professor of Law, Benue State University; Member of the Senate of Benue State University; Director -General, Abuja Law and Development Institute, Abuja (a private Institute)”
“He died on Sunday, the 23rd of January, 2022, at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Hon. Justice Phoebe M. Ayua, of the Federal High Court, Children, Grandchildren, Sisters, Cousins, Uncles , Aunts, Nephews , Nieces, In-Laws, Friends and Associates.
