Remi Tinubu Gifts 250 Elders N100,000 Each In Bauchi

The Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme (RHIESS) of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, supported 250 vulnerable elderly persons aged 65 and above in Bauchi state with the sum of N100,000 each. This initiative, themed “Better Days Ahead,” aims to ease the economic burden on senior citizens during the festive season.

Presenting the cash support on Thursday, Senator Tinubu revealed that a total of N950,000,000 will be disbursed to elderly citizens across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, including veterans from the Defence and Police Officers Wives’ Association (DEPOWA).

Represented by Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, the zonal coordinator for the Northeast and Bauchi State First Lady, Senator Tinubu announced the total disbursement amount as approved by the RHI Governing Board. Dr. Mohammed also stated that each state will receive N25,000,000.

“This scheme is to support 250 vulnerable elderly citizens aged 65 and above in all 36 states of the federation, the Federal Capital Territory and veterans from the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA),” Senator Tinubu said.

“These selected beneficiaries will receive N100,000 each. This is to cushion the effect of the economic situation and to alleviate the burdens of our esteemed elders during this festive period.”
