Pro-Fubara Lawmakers Elect Speaker, Suspend CJ

Edison, who was earlier suspended as the leader of the House by the anti-Fubara lawmakers, was elected the speaker after a sitting held in Government House.
The development came as part of efforts by pro-Fubara lawmakers to frustrate the ongoing moves to impeach the governor.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has assured the civilians in the state that they would be launching an investigation into the brouhaha that happened earlier on Monday, October 30, at the Rivers House of Assembly.

“We’ve launched a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances and will take immediate action against those responsible. Stay tuned for further updates. Your safety remains our priority. #RiversSecurity.”
