PDP Accuses Kwara Governor of WhatsApp Governance
The Kwara State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for what they perceive as governing the state “via WhatsApp messages.” The party also rebuked AbdulRazaq for allegedly neglecting road projects within the state.
In a statement released by its state Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, on Saturday, the PDP called on AbdulRazaq to explain his apparent prioritization of the Lagos-Calabar road project over the pressing needs of the people of Kwara State. The party expressed disappointment that the governor seemed more focused on the federal project than addressing critical infrastructural issues within the state, such as the deteriorating state of various roads.
The PDP criticized AbdulRazaq’s decision to discuss the Lagos-Calabar road project during a recent meeting with the President, suggesting that it demonstrated a lack of responsibility towards addressing the immediate concerns of Kwara residents. The party urged the governor to return to the state and concentrate on its development, describing the perceived “governance vacuum” as unacceptable.
The statement highlighted concerns about Kwara’s absence from the list of beneficiaries of several federal interventions since AbdulRazaq assumed the chairmanship of the Governors’ Forum. The PDP accused the governor of governing from Abuja, relying on WhatsApp messages and fake photos to showcase progress in the state, which they deemed inadequate.
The PDP emphasized the need for AbdulRazaq to prioritize the infrastructural and developmental needs of Kwara State and ensure that his role as Governors’ Forum Chairman benefits the people of Kwara. The party reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare and progress of the state and its people.
