The Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti has presented five Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) to five Judges of the State High Court as official vehicles.

Speaking at the brief ceremony held at the High Court Complex, Umuahia, on Tuesday, Governor Otti promised to give all required to make the judiciary take its pride of place.

Otti, represented by the Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, noted that he is committed to ensuring the dispensation of justice and the rule of law in the State, He added that those who undertake the task should have the best conducive atmosphere to perform their duties.

According to him, he has not hidden his respect for the judiciary and rule of law and commended the cordial relationship that exists between the executive and judicial arms of government.

While receiving the papers and keys to the vehicles, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Lilian Abai, noted that Otti has shown that he is a judiciary-friendly governor since taking over the reins of power.

He thanked Otti for providing the vehicles for the judges, adding that she looked forward to a better working relationship with the executive.

In a vote of thanks, one of the beneficiaries, Justice Okezie Enyinnaya, lauded the governor for the gesture extended to him and other judges.

He promised, on behalf of his colleagues, to make judicious use of the vehicles while pledging to continue to discharge their functions without fear or favour.
