The Nigeria Data Protection Bureau (NDPB) is in the process of proposing the ‘Nigeria Data Protection Bill, 2022’. The NDPB has come up with a draft of the said bill. The bill is designed to ensure data security, that is, the fair and proper use of data while allowing Nigeria to leverage the benefits of technology for socio-economic growth. This bill is therefore timely and useful as a key catalyst to our technological advancement as a Nation.

Consequently, the NBA is calling for contributions/input in the form of memoranda, proposals, and position papers from individual members, sections and fora of the NBA in respect of the draft bill. All memoranda, position papers and/or proposals should be forwarded to [email protected] on or before Wednesday, 12th October 2022 by 11:59pm WAT for aggregation and onward transmission of the NBA’s position to the NDPB.

Further enquiries can be made by contacting Ayodeji on 08033452825 or Oludayo on 0806137690.

Please find attached an electronic copy of the draft bill for your consideration.
