The President-Elect of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN has expressed his gratitude to the members of the Association for their resounding votes in support of him at the NBA Elections held on Saturday, 16th July, 2022.

In his appreciation message made available to The Lawyer, Maikyau also congratulated other elected members of the National Executive Committee and prayed for divine wisdom to take the NBA forward.

He also spared thanks for his fellow Presidential Candidates, J-K Gadzama SAN and Jonathan Gunu Taidi as he said they brought out the best in him.

The message reads:

“I couldn’t have done it without you!

I am grateful to the membership of the Nigerian Bar Association for entrusting me with the mandate to lead the Bar for the next two years.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as the 31st President of the #NBA.

I also congratulate other Executive Committe Members-Elect of the #NBA; with God’s divine wisdom, I believe we will take the Nigerian Bar forward during our tenure.

Importantly, I appreciate J. K Gadzama SAN (my big brother and inlaw) and J. Gunu Taidi for the contest; they indeed brought out the best in us. This is a victory for all.

Together, we have done it!
Together, we will do more!!”
