NASS Will Soon Start Second Batch Of Constitutional Amendment Says Gbajabiamila

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has said that the National Assembly will soon start another batch of amendments to the 1999 Constitution.

Gbajabiamila stated this to reporters in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

He added that the lawmakers would also devolve more powers from the exclusive to the concurrent list in the new amendment.

The Speaker said that both Chambers of the National Assembly would harmonise the amendments and send same to State Houses of Assembly.

Kwara Governor AbdulRaman Abdulrazaq reiterated the need to have more women in government especially thirty five percent affirmative.

The Governor added that political appointments be increased for womenfolk and urged other states to emulate Kwara in this regard.
