She said her husband apologised and admitted that he was wrong.

Damilola however stated she was attacked by her husband with a machete after sending their children on errand three days after her husband admitted to the wrongdoing.

According to her: “I asked him why he returned early, he said they hindered him from going to work. He dashed into the bedroom and returned with a cutlass.

“He said that he wanted to go and clear his site but he locked me inside the bedroom and attacked me with his fist. He used the cutlass to slash my skin and every other part of my body. He used a hammer to hit my head.

“Neighbours could not rescue me because the door was locked. I was rushed to the hospital after I managed to open the door.”
