The Lagos State Government said the Adiyan project will provide 70m gallons of water daily to residents of the state.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos said this when he visited the project site on Wednesday.

“Today, I paid a working visit to the Adiyan Water Works to check on the progress of Phase II of the project, which will supply Lagos residents with 70 million gallons of water daily,” Governor Sanwo-Olu wrote in a post on X after the visit.

“I am committed to ensuring the timely completion of this vital project, as it will significantly enhance the economy and living standards of Lagosians. Civil works are being carried out, including installing pipes to transport water from the Ogun River to Adiyan.

“I appreciate the cooperation on this project between the Commissioner of Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, the MD Lagos State Water Corporation, Mr. Mukhtaar Tijani, the contractor Salini Nigeria Ltd, and the host community.

“While there is still work to be done, I am confident that we will continue to build the necessary capacity to meet the water needs of our city.”
