Lagos State Labour Party Condemns Invasion of Secretariat, Vows to Resist Intimidation

The Lagos State Chapter of the Labour Party strongly condemns the unlawful invasion of its state secretariat by a group of unidentified thugs on Monday morning. This brazen act of aggression is not only an assault on our party infrastructure but also a direct attack on democracy and political freedom in Lagos State.

Eyewitness accounts confirm that a group of armed individuals stormed the party office, causing destruction to property and attempting to disrupt the lawful operations of the party. This violent intrusion is not only criminal but a clear attempt to intimidate and destabilize our peaceful political engagement.

Let it be known that the Lagos State Labour Party will not be cowed or deterred by such acts of thuggery. We remain resolute in our mission to build a just, inclusive, and progressive society, and we will continue to provide a credible alternative to the people of Lagos State without fear or compromise.

We commend the swift response of the Nigeria Police Force, who have now launched an investigation into this criminal act. We call on the security agencies to bring the perpetrators and their sponsors to justice without delay. Democracy must be protected, and those who seek to undermine it must face the full weight of the law.

The Labour Party assures its members, supporters, and the good people of Lagos State that we are more united than ever. Our commitment to the people remains firm, and no act of intimidation will derail our movement for a better Lagos.

Signed,
Adeola Onikoyi Esq
Publicity Secretary, Lagos State Labour Party
