Lagos Court Remands Man for Sodomising Minor

A 28-year-old man, Algoni Mohammed, has been remanded for allegedly sodomising an 11-year-old minor in the Gbagada area of Lagos State.

Mohammed, who is facing one-count bordering on sexual assault, was arraigned before an Ogba Magistrate’s Court.

The charge read in part, “That you, Algoni Mohammed, sometimes in the month of June 2022, at Akinwunmi Street, Gbagada, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did have sexual intercourse with the minor by inserting your penis inside his anus.”

The prosecutor, Raji Kareem, said the offense was punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

The matter was adjourned for trial.

Meanwhile, a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Tuesday, sentenced a 26 year-old Lawyer,  Yetunde Sulaimon, to five years imprisonment for drug trafficking.

Justice Daniel Osiagor handed down the sentence to the convict.
