JUSUN Defends Nasarawa Magistrate over Fraud Allegations

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), has challenged one Barrister Maxwell, who in a recent viral video alleged that a Magistrate from Nassarawa State Judiciary has been defrauding Nigerians.

JUSUN’s Nasarawa State Chapter Chairman, Comrade Jimoh Musa Alonge, when he reacted to the viral video said “as much as the union is in supporting flushing out of bad eggs from the system, the Union will not entertain any blanket statement from either a lawyer or anyone else aimed at tarnishing the image of the highly respected members of the judiciary.

He said Barrister Maxwell claimed a Magistrate issued an order but failed to disclose the name and the court of the said Magistrate.

“The attention of the Nasarawa State Branch of Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has been drowned to a viral video by one Barrister Maxwell making round that a certain Magistrate from Masaka in Nasarawa State has been conniving with the Nigerian police to defraud unsuspected Nigerians.

“While the union does not want to join the issue with Barrister Maxwell on his allegations, but because of the blanket statement he made while covering the said Magistrate.

“We wish to state that as a union , we know the character of the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Aliyu. She does not condone any form of dishonesty. We appeal to the lawyer to mention  the name of the Magistrate that issues such order so that such an individual can be brought to book. Saying one Magistrate in Masaka is blanket statement because we have about 3 magistrate courts in Masaka alone”.
