The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, on Saturday, urged all Nigerians to make use of the “NPF Rescue Me App” by downloading and embracing it.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Adejobi stated that the IGP discussed this matter while on a visit to the National Command and Control Centre (C4i) facility and the Nigeria Police Crime and Incidence Database Centre (NPCIDC) located at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The IGP explains that the innovative mobile application provides a platform for citizens to quickly alert the Police Force in emergency situations, thereby facilitating prompt response and assistance.
Egbetokun also emphasized that, the initiative aims at facilitating prompt response and assistance, aligning with the Nigeria Police Force’s vision of fostering stronger community engagement.
The statement read “the “NPF Rescue Me App” is freely available for download and usage on both Android and iOS application stores.”
However, Adejobi stated that the purpose of the IGP visit was to underscore the IGP’s dedication to integrating smart policing strategies within the Nigerian Police Force.
The IGP reiterated the Police Force’s commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies and encouraged officers to fully leverage these tools to enhance their operations and improve service delivery to the citizens.
