Hoodlums suspected to be enforcing a sit-at-home order at Ezzangbo community in Ebonyi State, the hometown of self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, on Monday burnt three vehicles, five motorcycles and other valuable items.

It was gathered that the hoodlums, who operated in a Sienna bus and numbering about 8, equally chased away petty traders and market women who had displayed their goods for sale, in the morning, chanting, “No more markets in Igbo land…”

A video, which trended on social media a few hours before our Correspondent arrived at the scene on Monday, showed vehicles, motorcycles, stores and other valuable items going up in flames, and residents scampering for safety.

This was the third time the area was attacked by hoodlums in 2023.

The Ebonyi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Monday.
