Fubara Urges New Rivers CP To Be Fair, Professional

Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has charged the new Commissioner of Police in the state Olatunji Disu to be professional and devote his time to fighting crime and safeguarding lives and property across the state.

The Governor says his administration will, in return, provide all the necessary support to enable him succeed, adding that his main interest is the peace and development of the state

Governor Fubara, who on Monday played host to Olatunji Disu, also urged the new Police Commissioner to be just and fair to all, saying a day will come, when he would be asked to give account for his stewardship

Olatunji Disu, who replaces Nwonyi Polycarp, becomes the 45th Police Commissioner in the state and the second since Sim Fubara assumed office as Governor of Rivers State, six months ago

In keeping with the tradition, CP Disu was at the Government House Port Harcourt to officially inform Governor Fubara of his deployment and to lay out his plans for tackling crime in the state

CP Olatunji Disu is not new to Rivers State…

He has served as head of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, twice as a Divisional Police Officer, Commander, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, and Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigations Department

Governor Sim Fubara wants the new CP to honestly use his wealth of experience in fighting crime and maintaining law and order in the state

The Governor is also calling on the people of the state to support the efforts of his administration and security agencies

In return, Governor Sim Fubara says his administration will continue to give the police and other security agencies all the support they need to make Rivers State a safe haven for residents, visitors, businesses and investors
