FG Evolves Policy On Politicisation Of Civil Service
The Federal Government has said that it had designed a policy to help the nation’s civil servants navigate the murky waters of politics.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, stated this yesterday in Abuja, after a Special Juma’at Prayer in commemoration of the 2022 Civil Service Week at the Abuja National Mosque.
Yemi-Esan, represented by Dr Nasir Sani Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, said the policy would also help the workers to deepen their professionalism.
“Politicisation is not a problem with the civil service because we have introduced a five-prong approach called ‘EMLA’ which is efficiency, meritocracy, professionalism, loyalty and accountability,” she said.
She added that the various reforms initiated under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025 were tailored to bring out the best in workers and make Federal Civil Service one of the best in the world.
According to her, the reforms introduced in the service placed a high premium on training and re-training of workers for effective service delivery.
