Federal High Court To Hold Valedictory Court Session In Honour Of Late Lucius Nwosu SAN

The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho has approved the holding of a valedictory court session in honour of late Environmental lawyer and fiery Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lucius Nwosu.

In a letter dated 6th of May, 2022 and sighted by The Lawyer, the Chief Judge acknowledged receipt of a request from Chief Ogwu James Onoja SAN for the organization of a valedictory court session by the Federal High Court in honour of the deceased Learned Silk, Nwosu.

Recall that on the 7th of April, 2022, The Lawyer reported the passage of Lucius Nwosu SAN, a Port Harcourt based Learned Silk widely reputed for his strong advocacy for the environmental rights of oil producing areas in the Niger Delta and his legal battles with International Oil Companies.

In the letter of approval by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, he remarked;

“I appreciate the committed, sustained and outstanding law practice of the late Learned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Lucius Ezeaka Nwosu, SAN in the Federal High Court during his lifetime.

I am by this letter, conveying approval of your request that the Court should organize a Valedictory Court Session in honour of the deceased on Monday, 6th June, 2022.

While we pray for the repose of his soul, please accept our heartfelt condolences for this irreparable loss.”

The valedictory court session is slated to hold on Monday, 6th of June, 2022.
