In a shocking incident that unfolded on Tuesday evening, the peaceful tranquility of One Man Village, near Mararaba, was shattered by a ruthless robbery at the local Abdullahi Supermarket. The heinous act resulted in the untimely deaths of four innocent individuals, one of whom was identified as Daniel Adefemi Okunade, an esteemed employee of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Okunade, who led a dual life as the choir master at the Christ Apostolic Church in the same area, suffered a fatal shot to his head during the robbery. The tragic event, as reported by eyewitnesses, unfolded within the span of a heartrending two minutes. The identities of the other three victims, also caught in the deadly crossfire, remain veiled in a shroud of sorrowful mystery.

The assailants, in their ruthless pursuit of wealth, spared Okunade’s Toyota Venza, which stood untouched outside the supermarket. Okunade, having returned from a day of diligent work at the CBN, had merely stopped at the supermarket to purchase bread for his family when he was caught in the gruesome occurrence.

Following the attack, the New Nyayan Divisional Police Station intervened, transferring the victims’ bodies to the Mararaba Medical Center mortuary. Despite the swift action, no official statement has yet been released by the police in regard to the robbery, leaving the local community and the families of the victims grappling with shock and grief, seeking answers and justice for their loss.
