Explosion Rocks Sabon Gari Area Of Kano

An explosion went off in a private school located in Sabon Gari, Kano State, Northern Nigeria less than an hour ago,” a resident said.

A crowd had gathered at the scene right after the blast with some people trying to help the injured and others lamenting the damage.

Casualty figures yet unknown

The police spokesman in Kano Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa did not immediately respond to questions when contacted.

When our correspondent visited the scene, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

A welder in front of Winners Schools, Kano, which is adjacent the scene, is reported to be among the casualties.
