Eterna Plc has rolled out self-service fuel terminals across its retail network, marking a practical step forward in the company’s drive to digitise fuel retail and improve service delivery.

Powered by smart automation technology from Fuelmetrics Limited, the terminals enable motorists to authorise and pay for fuel using cards and digital vouchers, enhancing transparency, reducing wait times, minimising cash handling and delivering a more seamless station experience.

Self-serving at filling stations has become a dominant, crucial aspect of modern fuel retail, offering significant advantages in efficiency, cost and accessibility for both consumers and operators.

Commenting on the deployment, Managing Director/CEO, Eternal PLC, Olumide Adeosun, said the milestone reinforces the company’s commitment to digitising its operations, enhancing customer experience, and improving efficiency across its network.

He said the rollout is a strategic move aligned with the evolving expectations of today’s consumers.

He added that combining Eterna’s retail footprint with Fuelmetrics Limited’s technical expertise, the rollout stands as a clear shift toward a more efficient, transparent, and data-driven fueling environment and it’s also an important step toward the retail station of the future, where secure digital payments and automation support smarter supply and demand management.

“With this launch, we are strengthening our position as a forward-looking energy company, focused on meeting current needs and building a more modern, reliable fueling experience for the customers and businesses it serves.

“We have people who understand the industry and are trying to solve the problems. As the industry is evolving, we are moving from where we used to be.”

Also speaking, Managing Director, Fuelmetrics Limited, Olayide Folorunso, noted that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to leveraging technology to simplify fuel management and deliver a more seamless experience for everyday Nigerians.

He added that partnering with Eterna Plc enables Fuelmetrics Limited to scale this impact across the country, reinforcing the strength of Nigerian home-grown innovation in transforming the downstream sector.
