The Director General of the Gambian law school Mrs. Rougie Thomasi, paid a courtesy call on the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Yakubu Maikyau SAN on Thursday.

Thomasi was accompanied by the Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Prof. Isah Hayatuo Chiroma SAN and U.O. Sule SAN who is a former Welfare Secretary and Legal Adviser of the NBA.

Maikyau thanked the visiting DG for identifying with the NBA especially at a time like this. He extended his appreciation to the Gambian Bar Association President for hosting the Nigerian delegation of the 1st Vice President, Mrs. Linda Bala and the Publicity Secretary, Akorede Habeeb Lawal who visited Gambia for the 2nd GIABA Regional Consultative Forum on AML/CFT Compliance for Bar Associations of English-Speaking ECOWAS Member States which took place from 16-17 November, 2022.

The NBA President assured the visiting DG that the Nigerian bar will continue to cooperate and support other African bar associations to ensure the growth of the legal profession in Africa.

Thomasi in the course of her visit was shown round the NBA secretariat. She also attended the 10th anniversary of the Bwari Branch of the NBA which took place at the NBA secretariat.
