Defence Chief, Stakeholders Meet Over Oil Production

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, is meeting with key stakeholders in the oil and gas sector in the Niger Delta.

The ongoing meeting, taking place at the Python Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt Barracks, aims to assess security efforts and strategies for increasing Nigeria’s oil production.

In his opening remarks, General Musa stated that the engagement follows the President’s directive to improve oil security and output.

He disclosed that Nigeria’s daily crude oil production has now exceeded 1.8 million barrels, moving closer to the 2.2 million barrels per day target.

He expressed optimism that with the right strategies in place, production could surpass expectations.

The meeting which has in attendance representatives from both international and national oil and gas companies has entered a closed-door session.

The media is expected to be briefed at the end of the meeting.
