A FEDERAL High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, yesterday, granted an application for the amendment of a suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, seeking the stoppage of the state local council election slated for October 15, 2022 by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC).
In his ruling, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola over-ruled OSIEC’s objection and granted PDP’s amendment application.
The court adjourned the suit till September 26, 2022 for hearing.
IN another development, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Osun State Chapter and some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), yesterday, urged Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the House of Assembly to domesticate the National Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act in the state without further delay.
They urged Oyetola to give the disability bill, which had been sent to the office of his Special Adviser on Special Duties, an executive consideration so that the state Assembly could speedily work on it.
