The Body of Benchers (BoB) has announced that the Call to Bar ceremony for successful candidates in the July 2023 Bar Final Examinations will take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Body of Benchers Complex in Abuja.

The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 11am prompt. Prior to that, the Body of Benchers meeting for members only will hold at the Main Court, Supreme Court of Nigeria by 1pm on October 10.

According to the announcement by the Secretary of the Body of Benchers, Daniel Manasseh Tela, each aspirant is entitled to one guest only. The guest will be issued an invitation card at the Nigerian Law School before the ceremony date. Aspirants are required to come with their Nigerian Law School ID cards for identification purposes.

There will be accreditation exercise at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium starting from 6am and closing at 9:30am on the day of the call to bar. After accreditation, aspirants and their guests will be conveyed by bus to the venue to ensure smooth traffic flow. Only cleared aspirants and guests will be granted access into the venue.

The dress code for the ceremony is strictly robes and wigs. The event will be televised live on Channels Television and streamed online on YouTube and other social media platforms.

The Body of Benchers is responsible for formally calling to the Nigerian Bar, persons seeking to become legal practitioners in Nigeria after passing the Bar Final Examinations at the Nigerian Law School. The call to bar ceremonies are conducted twice yearly, after the release of results.
