Anambra: Soludo Appoints Oby Ezekwesili To Chair Transition Committee [FULL LIST]

Anambra State’s governor-elect, Prof Charles Soludo, has appointed former Minister of Information, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, as the chairperson of his transition committee.

It was learnt that the inauguration of the committee will take place on Thursday, January 20, at the Agulu Lake (Golden Tulip) Hotel, Awka.

An official release to this effect from the Media Office of Prof Charles Soludo signed by Mr Joe Anatune, Head of Soludo Media Office read thus:

Anambra 2022 Governorship Transition Committee

This is to announce the constitution of a Transition Committee which will liaise with a team set up by the government of Anambra State to ensure a seamless transition from the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration to a Chukwuma Charles Soludo-led administration as from 17th March, 2022.

The full Terms of Reference for the Committee as well as its mode of operation will be communicated during the inauguration/first plenary sessions scheduled for 19- 22nd January, 2022 at the Golden Tulip (Agulu Lake) Hotel, Anambra State.

Members are expected to arrive on Wednesday, 19th while the inauguration and first plenary sessions start on the 20th. Departure is on the 23rd.

The Secretariat will take care of the logistics (transport and accommodation), etc.

Soludo, who was the Central Bank of Nigeria governor between 2004 and 2009, was declared winner of Anambra Governorship election on November 6, 2021, after a supplementary election was held in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state.

He won 19 of the 21 local governments areas including Ihiala LGA.

Sixty one-year-old Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance won with 112,229 votes beating Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 53,807 votes, and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress who got 43,285 votes. Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party polled 21,261 votes came fourth.
