In the letter sighted by The Lawyer and dated 22nd of July, 2022, the NBA President informed the Body of Benchers Chair, Wole Olanipekun SAN of a petition before the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee against a Partner in his firm, Adekunbi Ogunde over allegations of professional misconduct.

Akpata also highlighted that Olanipekun undeniably shares an intertwined professional relationship with the said Ms. Ogunde as Founding Partner of the firm.

He stressed that the LPDC being a Standing Committee of the Body of Benchers which Olanipekun currently chairs, creates a situation where his interests may be perceived as conflicting.

He therefore asked the BoB Chair to step aside in the interest of justice.
