Adedoyin, Six Staff Remanded Over Alleged Murder Of OAU Student

The owner of Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, Dr Rahmon Adedoyin and six staff have been remanded after their arraignment before an Osun State High Court, Osogbo over the alleged murder of a Master’s student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Timothy Adegoke.

The defendants: Dr Rahmon Adedoyin, Magdalene Chiefuna, Adeniyi Aderogba, Oluwole Lawrence, Oyetunde Kazeem Adebayo Kunle and Adedeji Adesola were brought into the court amid heavy security.

The defendants were arraigned on 11 counts of conspiracy, murder, felony, indecent interference of the corpse, alteration and cancellation of receipt and oath-taking to prevent justice.

Adedoyin was dragged for a felony, indecently intervene with the dead body of Adegoke, cancelled receipt payment and administering an extrajudicial oath to prevent justice.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences.

The defence counsel, K.K Eleja, SAN and Kunle Adegoke, SAN moved bail application of the first to sixth defendants except for the seventh defendant (Adesola Adedeji), who was just added to the charge.

Justice Ojo ordered that the defendants be remanded in Ilesha Correctional Facility and adjourned the case to Friday, March 4th, 2022 for the argument of bail of the seventh defendant.

Three people were arrested at the entrance of the Osun State High Court at 8:24 am before the proceeding with weapons and knives.

The three suspects, who attempted to drive into the premises in wine colour unregistered Micra car, were apprehended by the police checking everybody entering the court.

They were caught with some weapons and knives. They could not explain their mission at the court.

The police arrested them and took the car to the police station.
