Following the placement of N20 million bounty on two suspected kidnappers terrorising Abuja and environs by the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, police have announced the arrest of one of them, Dahiru Adamu, who is also known as Saidu Abdulkadir.

He was arrested when police operatives raided two kidnappers’ camps at the border with Nasarawa State in Kuje area council on February 15, 2024 and dislodged the camps.

FCT police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said Abdulkadir is the gang leader and one of the wanted suspects of the kidnapping syndicate paraded by the police command on February 14, 2024.

She said the bandits on sighting the police  operatives, engaged them in an intense gun duel but were eventually overpowered as one Habu Yakubu and Isufu Abubakar, earlier abducted from Kwaita Village in Pegi district of Kuje area council, were rescued unhurt and the kidnapper was arrested.

She further said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect masterminded the kidnap and killing of one Mr Sunday Yahaya Zakwai, the district head of Ketti Village.
