Former Chief Judge of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Abdul Fatai Adeyinka Dies at 83

Former Chief Judge of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Abdul Fatai Adeyinka has passed away on Thursday.

The jurist died early in the morning and the Janazah Prayer(Muslim funeral) has been observed at the Oriwu Central Mosque, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Justice Adeyinka was born in 1939. He attended Ereko Methodist School, Lagos from 1947-54 and Anwar-Islam College, Agege, from1955-59. He proceeded to Leeds College of Commerce, England, 1961-63, Holborn College of Law, London, 1964-66, Woolich Polytechnic, London, 1967-68. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1969.

After his tenure as Chief Judge, he served as the Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission.

The jurist was a member of the defunct Nigerian Peoples Party (NPP). Until his demise, he held the title of Otun Bamofin of Ilkorodu.
