The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced the digitization of stamp applications to improve efficiency. In a notice to lawyers, NBA General Secretary Adesina Adegbite laid out the new online process for paid and complimentary stamp requests.

PROCEDURE FOR ONLINE APPLICATION FOR STAMPS

Distinguished Colleagues,

In furtherance of the current ongoing efforts to digitize the NBA Secretariat, I am pleased to inform you that applications for stamps should now be made online via the NBA Portal. While all manual applications previously received before this publication will be processed, it is advisable that subsequent applications for stamps should be done online through the portal.

Please find below the step-by-step process for applying for stamps on the NBA Portal:

   PAID STAMPS APPLICATION:

Step 1:    Login: Access your portal and navigate to the payment section, then choose “Stamp and Seal.”

Step 2:   Pack Selection: Select the desired number of packs from the dropdown options and proceed by clicking on the “Next” button.

Step 3:   Preview and Payment: Review your selection and proceed to make the payment for your stamp.

Step 4:   Select “Stamp Application.”

Step 5:    Click on the three-dot menu under the “Action” column.

Step 6:     Select “Upload Document”, then upload evidence of payment of your Branch Dues  (branch dues receipt/teller) for the current year.

Step 7:     Select Type of Stamp: Public (RED) or Private (GREEN)

 COMPLIMENTARY STAMPS APPLICATION:

Every lawyer who paid BPF between the 1st January and 31st March of 2024 is entitled to 48 free stamps (2 packs). Please note that evidence of payment of branch dues MUST be uploaded to successfully complete the application process.

Upon payment of BPF, your complimentary stamps will automatically appear in the stamp application section, but can only be claimed after uploading evidence of payment of Branch Dues.

N.B:  All members who had already applied for stamps online without attachment of Branch Dues receipts are hereby advised to proceed to the NBA Portal to upload their Branch Dues receipts, as payment of Branch Dues is a prerequisite for the release of stamps or dispatch to Branches.

All processed stamps shall be dispatched to various Branches of the applicants for collection. For more information and enquiries, kindly contact The Bar Services Department via- [email protected].

Please be assured of my esteemed regards.

Adesina Adegbite, FICMC
General Secretary
