The Honourable Attorney General & Commissioner of Justice, Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro,SAN , FCI. Arb. is set to present a new book. The public presentation of the book titled “The Supreme Court of Nigeria: History , Establishment, Jurists & Speeches” is scheduled on hold on Wednesday, 13th December 2023, at the Providence Hotel, Oba Akinjobi Way, GRA Ikeja, Lagos State at 11 am.

According to the press release from the Office of the Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State and personally signed by Mr. Pedro, the book foreword is written by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola (GCON), and will have as Chief Launcher the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.

While the Book Public Presentation & Lecture will be chaired by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, CFR, the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and Chairman Body of Benchers, Mr. Adeola Ipaye, the former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria will review the book. Dr. Kemi Pinhiero, SAN, OFR, FCI.Arb. will deliver the Public Lecture titled “Supreme Court: the Past , the Present and the Future.”

The press release concludes that the “classical book as so described by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, highlights the Supreme Court as the highest in the hierarchy of courts in Nigeria, its history, establishment, composition and jurisdiction. It brings up to date the Roll Call of the Justices of the Supreme Court with over 40 valedictory speeches of the retired Justices of the Supreme Court that may not be found in any other publication.”
