The Police Service Commission (PSC) has taken action in the case of Deputy Superintendent of Police Musa Mohammed, who serves in Police Mobile Force (PMF) 45 Abuja and sustained severe injuries during an engagement with kidnappers near the Galadimawa forest, close to Kaduna.

The incident unfolded when DSP Mohammed led a team in a gun battle with kidnappers in an attempt to rescue a victim. Regrettably, he sustained bullet wounds that significantly affected his leg and urinary functions. As a result, DSP Mohammed now relies on crutches for mobility.

Concerned about his condition, DSP Mohammed sought assistance from relevant government agencies, expressing concerns that he might have been abandoned in his time of need. His appeal was made through Human Rights Radio (Berekete) in Abuja.

Solomon Arase, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, was contacted by the radio station regarding the matter. In response, Arase has taken steps to address the situation and facilitate the officer’s recovery.

Arase, speaking in Abuja on September 19, confirmed that he had debriefed the injured officer and arranged for him to receive medical care from the Force Medical Officer. The officer has undergone several medical procedures to address his injuries, and the PSC remains committed to supporting him on his journey toward recovery and normalcy.
