Man Arraigned For Phony N44m Supreme Court Vehicles Contract Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command, on Thursday, April 6, 2023 arraigned one Idris Ibrahim before Justice B. Abubakar of the FCT High Court, Apo, Abuja on one count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretense.

The charge reads, “that you Idris Ibrahim sometime in 2020 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court by the false pretense that you had secured a contract with the Supreme Court of Nigeria for the supply of 3 Toyota Hilux vehicles and with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of Forty Four Million Naira (N44,000,000) for yourself, from one Sanni Shuaibu and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (a) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act”.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Justice Abubakar remanded the defendant and adjourned till May 10, 2023 for commencement of trial.
