NBA Committee on Flood Relief Requests Data from Branch Chairmen

The Nigerian Bar Association Flood Disaster Relief Committee (NBA-FDRC), has called for the collation of relevant data of members affected by the recent flooding incidents across the country by NBA Branch Chairmen.

In a release signed by the NBA Assistant General Secretary who doubles as the NBA-FDRC Secretary, Daniel K. Kip, the Committee said:

Dear Colleagues & Chairmen of Branches,

As you are aware, the NBA President Mr Y. C. Maikyau, OON, SAN on the 2nd day of November, 2022, constituted the NBA-Flood Disaster Relief Committee (NBA-FDRC), to help in alleviating the sufferings of our colleagues who have been severely affected by the flood which ravaged some of our cities and villages in different parts of country. The President inaugurated the Nigerian Bar Association – Flood Disaster Relief Committee (NBA-FDRC) on 17th November, 2022 with the mandate to commence work immediately.

The NBA as an Association is very interested in the well-being of its members, hence, members in the affected States: Kogi, Anambra, Delta, Benue, Niger, Bayelsa, Cross River, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Nasarawa, Katsina and Jigawa are advised to reach out to their branches to ensure that they are captured in the exercise.

The Branch Chairmen in the affected States are therefore notified to collate, conduct a thorough verification, and submit the Names, SCN, Bank Details, Phone Number, Email, details of the extent of loss, and other relevant information of members of their branches SEVERELY affected by the flood.

Also, kindly note that the branches are to provide pictures and video evidence to substantiate the claims of the affected members. The above information is required to be sent in Microsoft Word version via email to: [email protected] with [email protected] in copy.

The above information should be sent or forwarded on or before the 1st day of December, 2022.
