Justice Nathan Musa Appointed Adamawa Chief Judge
The Adamawa State government has confirmed the appointment of Justice Nathan Musa as the state’s new Chief Judge.
Also appointed are head of Sharia Court of Appeal, Usman Girei and President, Customary Court of Appeal, Peter Wajilda.
Gov Ahmadu Fintiri inaugurated the heads of the courts on Friday in Yola.
The governor urged the appointees to do all within their capacity to promote the course of justice delivery in the state.
“The task before you is not easy, however, I urge you to be committed to make the judiciary arm of government unique in line with expectation,’’ Mr Fintiri said.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Justice Musa assured that they would enhance the rule of law in the state and protect the interests of all.
Mr Musa first acted as Adamawa Chief Judge in 2013 but he was removed months later. Mr Fintiri reappointed him in an acting position in September before his eventual confirmation as substantive chief judge.
The state Attorney-General Afraimu Jingi administered the oath of office and oath of allegiance on the new chief judge who in turn administered the oaths on Messrs Girei and Wajilda. (NAN)
