BREAKING: Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Tanko Muhammad, Has Resigned Amidst Controversy
Nigeria’s Chief Justice, Justice Tanko Muhammad has resigned, The Lawyer can confirm.
Sources told The Lawyer that Justice Muhammad resigned on Sunday night, citing ill-health as the reason for his decision.
This might also be connected to the recent revolt at the Supreme Court by other Justices over working conditions and allegations of financial misconduct levelled against the Chief Justice.
Information also has it that arrangements are ongoing to swear in the next most senior justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
