A 27-year-old man, Oluwayomi Temitope has been arrested by officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for extorting sex from a lady by threatening to release their sex video.

The victim’s name was simply given as Olajumoke.

Temitope was arrested at a popular hotel in Ijoka, Akure for cyberstalking and blackmailing.

A statement by the NSCDC spokesman in Ondo, DSC Aidamenbor Daniel, said the victim met the suspect online and they hooked up at the hotel where they both engaged in sex for a fee.

But when Olajumoke requested payment, the suspect allegedly showed her the recorded video of their act and threatened to upload same on social media.

According to the statement, “Oluwayomi Temitope kept asking for the service of Olajumoke and when she could not take it further, she reported to the command.

“A sting operation was carried out where the lady was asked to honour the suspect’s invitation at the hotel whenever he demanded for her again.

“The suspect was arrested and he has since made a confessional statement with the presentation of the recorded video as an exhibit.

“He will be charged to court to serve as a deterrent to others who are in the habit of cyberstalking and blackmailing.”
