The Lagos State Police Command has recovered a 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 that was stolen at gunpoint on Saturday in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The suspects involved have also been identified, according to the police on Monday.

According to the state police command spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, in a post shared on X, she said the vehicle has been promptly recovered by operatives of the command.

Adebisi said a probe has commenced into the case, and updates will be provided in due course.

“The vehicle has been promptly recovered by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command, and the individuals responsible have been identified.

“Investigation is currently ongoing, and the outcome will be communicated in due course,” Adebisi concluded.

Recall that on November 1, the Lagos State Command announced it had launched a manhunt for a gang of armed robbers who stole the black 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 with registration number WTO 21 AM.

The vehicle, with Vehicle Identification Number 4JGFB4FB8SB274117, was reportedly taken at gunpoint at Akin-Olugbade Street, Victoria Island.

Eyewitnesses said about four robbers arrived while the car was parked with the driver inside. They forced the driver out and fled the scene with the SUV, which was last seen heading towards the Ozumba Mbadiwe axis.

A senior police officer from the Victoria Island Division said a full-scale manhunt had been launched, and the vehicle was placed on both the Lagos State and national security watchlists.

The stolen SUV was described as black metallic with factory-fitted tinted windows, brown leather interior, LED headlamps, AMG alloy wheels, and a distinctive chrome front grille.
