Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Ogun and other states have pushed enrolment into the National Data Base (NDB) of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to 85.59million, according to the Commission.

While the gender distribution of the total number of people with the National Identity Number (NIN) showed that males with 48,066, 271 accounted for 56 per cent, females with total number of 37, 525,127 had 44 per cent.

NIMC’s enrolment dashboard puts figures as at July 7, this year at over 85.59 million with over 9.7 million recorded in Lagos State.

3,476,558; FCT Abuja 3,089,710; Katsina 2,871,438, Rivers 2,601,167, Delta 2,310,988; and Niger 2,239,149.

Bayelsa led the lowest states with 552,597; Ekiti 939,302 and Ebonyi 689,555.

In the geopolitical zone distribution, Northwest had the highest with 22,496,685 representing 26 per cent of the total, Southwest had 21,247,741 representing 25per cent followed by North central’s 14,299,388 representing 17 per cent and Northeast’s 10,637,582 representing 12 per cent. South south recorded 9,838,737 representing 12 per cent to while Southeast recorded the lowest with 7,071,265 representing eight per cent.
